Nancy’s treatment philosophy is to treat the whole (mind, body, spirit) person as well as maintaining the integrity of the patient/client through the practice of confidentiality, pacing and a diligent focus.
Nancy received her Masters of Social Work from the University at Buffalo and her degree as a Naturopathic Doctor from Trinity College School of Natural Health. She has been in private practice for the past 15 years, as well as worked as an outpatient therapist for a teaching hospital in the adult behavioral health department at Kaleida Health in Buffalo, New York.
Nancy’s career started out working grass roots with a sexual assault center and then onto domestic violence in Ontario, Canada. While doing her masters she worked intensely with the SED (Severely Emotionally Disturbed) child/adolescent population and their associated social institutions. She is currently a presenter for the KIDS Program with the Kane County Family Court System.
Nancy has done public speaking in the United States and Canada as well as trains and consults with providers within the milieu of various techniques and interventions that she is certified in. Nancy has been an adjunct professor at the Bachelors and Masters Level, in Social Work, at Niagara University and the University at Buffalo.
Nancy participated in an EMDR research project as fidelity rater; mentored by and utilizing Ricky Greenwald’s MASTR protocol with incarcerated youth. She is currently in the process of becoming an EMDR consultant. She is available for peer consultation in this area as well as in other areas of expertise. Nancy is also a DBT consultant.
Nancy sees patients and receives patient referrals from all over the world. Her interventions and treatment approaches are quite unique in regard to utilizing an integrated treatment approach that incorporates both Eastern and Western philosophical tenets.
Nancy’s philosophical treatment beliefs are to empower her patients/clients. Therefore, therapy is quite interactive and offers a psycho-educational approach, which teaches the patients/clients to help themselves and move forward with greater success.
